Anna's Story - Hypothyroidism

Finally something that works!

I joined the challenge and adopted a Paleo lifestyle due to my hypothyroidism and after reading many accounts of Paleo helping autoimmune and thyroid conditions.

Prior to being Paleo/Primal in my eating I had been told by my GP that with my thyroid so low I could probably run a half marathon a week and still struggle to lose any weight. 


I have been fit most of my life playing top level netball and many other sports etc so being unable to lose weight and in fact consistently seeing the scales creeping up was hard to handle.

I am very pleased that at the end of the 10 week challenge I have lost 6 inches off my waist, 3 inches off my hips and 3.5 inches off my bust and I have lost a total of 5.3kilograms!! The weight didn’t start to come off until at least week 6 even though my measurements were changing! I also have much more energy and I am much fitter than I was 10 weeks ago.

Suffice to say that I will be continuing to eat Primal/Paleo and I am slowly trying to convert the family.

Thanks to Sara and Elora for creating the challenge, it was great to be able to run questions/queries/comments past others.
