Studies on fat intake and Cardiovascular Disease:

The PURE Study: read the summary of findings here and watch the World Heart Foundation President say FAT is beneficial to our health!

Kuipers et al. 2011 – “reducing the intake of CHO with high glycaemic index is more effective in the prevention of CVD than reducing SAFA intake per se.”

Yamagishi et al. 2010 – saturated fat intake “was inversely associated with mortality from total stroke.”

Siri-Tarino et al. 2010 - A meta-analysis that concluded “that there is no significant evidence for concluding that dietary saturated fat is associated with an increased risk of CHD or CVD.”
